What you need
Questions
ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Copilot. One prompt works for all of them: your assistant writes out what it knows about you, and you paste that reply into Mirror. No accounts are connected, ever.
You can, and it’s worth doing. But the model answering you is trained to be agreeable, it only knows the side of you that you typed on purpose, and it gives a different flattering paragraph every time you ask. It has no way to disagree with you. Mirror is built around the disagreement: it places how you describe yourself beside what you’ve actually been saying for months, and every insight must point at something real. You judge each one: rings true, or doesn’t land.
Memory belongs to the app that holds it. It lives on their servers, it shapes only their product, and you mostly can’t see it. Mirror’s picture of you is computed and stored on your phone. You can read all of it, and deleting the app deletes all of it. There is no copy anywhere else.
Your chats capture what you think about. Your camera roll captures what you actually do. Chat history skews hard toward work and questions; nobody chats about their Sunday hikes. Mirror reads abstract themes from your photos, on your phone, no faces, no uploads, and looks for the places where your words and your days agree, and the places where they don’t. No chat app can do that, because no chat app can see both.
Your content never leaves your device. Not your words, not your photos, not your insights, not your survey answers. If you leave usage sharing on, the app sends anonymous counts, such as “an import completed”, so we can tell whether Mirror works. There is a visible switch to turn that off.

No. There are no types, no scores, and no diagnosis. Mirror shows patterns in your own record and states them as correlations, never causes. It’s an instrument for noticing, not a clinical tool. You stay the judge of every card.
It’s grounded, not psychic. Every insight has to cite something you actually said or a theme actually found in your photos; if the evidence isn’t there, the card doesn’t exist. Whether it rings true is yours to say, and the app asks you exactly that, on every insight.
